The forest illusion

I am rather pleased with today's experiment. At first sight this looks a little like a woodland scene with tree saplings growing in the foreground. In reality it's ferns shooting out from the ground - each is only about 15cm long but I shot them from a low angle and have cropped the result into a wide format with the big trees in the background to build on the forshortening.
That's my story and I am sticking to it ;-)
