In the morning I cleaned inside windows and did the ironing. After lunch I thought I’d try Elterwater. I did expect it to be busy but thought I’d find a spot somewhere. The NT car park was full so I went to the other one I’ve used before. There was space for one car without blocking anyone in. I parked then saw the sign so took a photo before I went and read it. I wasn’t paying £5 and don’t have a Ringo app.

There were no spaces at Skelwith on the way back so it was a short afternoon outing. I’ll have to try harder to get out early on sunny days for the next few months or use the bus.

The centre of Ambleside was packed when I drove back so I spent an hour or so in the garden.
