Normal Bolton!
When we first moved to Bolton in 1985 we were told it would only take 3 - 4 years to get our web feet! I knew that the Lancashire towns of Bolton, Bury and Blackburn were cotton towns and cotton production needs damp - I learnt that at school! We can see the mast on Winter hill from our house. We were told if you see it it is about to rain and if you can't it is raining!
The weather has changed considerably in the last years and we have a lot of sunshine now. End of June the garden was 'crying out for rain' ! (my blip 24 June) But today we are well and truly back to the rainy Bolton!
Here we are looking down Knowsley St., B6204, towards the Market place shopping centre. That funny dome shape in front of a church: St George's Church which I have just seen on Google Maps is now the RCCG Church (Redeemed Christian Church of God) St George's church was originally founded in 1796 and closed in 1975. We used to love going there to see the craft etc shops in it. A great place for all things to do with doll's houses amongst other things.
The dome on the other side is the Victoria halls. Built in 1900. A beautiful venue which is showing 'The wizard of Oz' at the moment. I have been walking around Bolton on Google Maps. It's a great way to visit a town!!!
