Brolly Day

Having my hair cut/coloured was on the calendar for today so I was very disappointed to see the rain falling and the wind blowing. It has not stopped all day. As ever Sharon made a super job of my hair, but by the time I'd walked home it looked rough. (Despite using my own colourful brolly!) The colour is better at least, but it is as frizzy and unruly as ever.

I normally just wash and leave my hair, maybe give it a scrunch while it is damp to enhance the waviness and it looks OK if conditions are not too damp or humid. I don't like using things like straighteners or even the hairdryer too much as the heat makes the condition of my hair worse over time. It withstood anything and looked fine until I was about 40 though!

Once I'd had my lunch I headed straight back out to see my dad. He said he'd played a game with some of the others in the home this morning which involved chucking beanbags onto a target on the floor. He did well at it, he said, which does not surprise me.

In some ways he seems to be improving but I still don't think he will manage at home. Standing is still an issue and his hand is still not right though it seems a bit better too. I think he will just about pass the tests to go home, but I don't think he will manage too well once he gets there. We will see...An Occupational Therapist will be visiting to assess him on Tuesday.

This photo was taken as I walked home from the visit. As you can see it was still wet and windy. I was still without a Blip so I juggled my bag, brolly and phone to take a photo of the two colourfully attired ladies walking in front of me with their equally colourful brollies. A shame I wasn't able to capture part of the inside of the red one - it was white with a lovely cats and dogs pattern.
