Veronicastrum

When we visited RHS Bridgewater earlier in the week, we were delighted by the great clumps of pollinator friendly plants. This group particularly caught our eye as it was covered in bumblebees. I couldn’t see a label on it and didn’t immediately recognise it.
At the market today, Pam brought in her large selection of plants and as we were packing up I spotted the very one I was looking for. It turns out to be Veronicastrum and is distinctive with its whorls of five leaves around the stem. Of course I bought it! They do grow into large clumps but I dare say I can find a spot for it!
