From New York to Washington DC..

.. and onward to Cambridge.

This morning we checked out and caught the 11.35 Amtrak Train 175 from New York Pennsylvania Station to Washington DC Union Station. An uneventful 3.5 hour journey that started out through New Jersey, looking for all the world like the opening credits of The Sopranos.

At Washington we picked up our rental car and headed east across the Chesapeake Bay bridge and south to Cambridge, where we checked in to a somewhat pricey Holiday Inn for the night. However, the Americans always seem to be up for a bit of negotiation and I managed to get $40 knocked off the price.

Dinner was enchiladas and Bud Lite at Snapper's waterside bar. Bliss.
