'Bunny'
The Eastern Cottontail, Sylvilagus floridanus, is the most common rabbit species in North America. It's very territorial, running in a zigzag pattern at speeds up to 18 mph (29 km/h) when chased. Lately I'm noticing more of them in the neighborhood than I've seen since I moved here 16 years ago. We welcome them in our yard and I'm betting that the foxes, coyotes, raptors and serpents are just thrilled at their population explosion. Yum!
