You Can Make Book on It
When I was a kid I had rather eclectic tastes in reading material. I loved the classics, Civil War histories, Jules Verne, Rudyard Kipling, Horatio Alger, comic books, and "adolescent" novels like the Rick Brant Electronic Mystery series.
These stories featured Rick Brant and his buddy Scotty solving mysteries while living and traveling with a scientific team led by Rick's father. The science wasn't always accurate (for instance in this particular mystery a rocket fired from Spindrift Island reached the moon in approximately 20 minutes), but through perseverance, bravery, and ingenuity the boys always managed to save the day foiling the plots of a variety of thugs and evil scientists.
The beauty of it was that after every success there was always another mystery in far away and exotic places - you might say, even back in the day, that the adventure continued.
