View from the bridge

I quite like the perspective on this image.

They had just stopped and asked me what I was looking at. I explained that I had just seen a kingfisher and was seeing if it would return. They said they’ve seen them a few times on this stretch of the river, and moved on.

What I didn’t say was that I had seen the kingfisher fly into the river bank - its burrow shielded by some vegetation - and then fly out again. It’s in a very public position, visible from the bridge and with a public footpath passing close by behind it. If I had hung around I might have got a photo or two, but rain looked as if it was on its way and I needed to get back home.
