crown of glory

I like the way this bloom looks like it is wearing a crown - that little yellow ring on top of the brown head, or are those birthday candles?
Either way, I think the little green bud at the bottom reminds us that a lot of change and beauty comes with maturity.
I'm probably waxing nostalgic because hubby and I went to a concert last night to hear a band that was popular when we were dating in the 1970s. The concert was technically very good, but we realized how much we've grown in 40 years!
