Two go mad in Dublin - Day 3

Wet, wet, wet!!

With a yellow weather warning for heavy rain for the whole of Ireland, we knew we were in for a very wet day so changed our plans, but still ended up soaked to the skin, despite raincoats and umbrellas!

- Checked out of apartment and headed to Dublin Castle (extra 1)
- Joined a very interesting guided tour of the castle (extra 2 - we’re not really munchkins, it’s the mirror!)
- Back through Temple Bar stopping off for a last blast of some diddlydee music (extra 3)
- Across the Ha’penny Bridge to The Irish Potato Company on the banks of the River Liffey for a very tasty lunch of Potato Soup and Potato Cakes, and in the vain hope of drying off. Were lucky enough to get a window table and sat and watched the wet world go by.
- Some last minute Irish food shopping then back to the apartment to collect our cases (and dry clothes!)
- A wet bus ride back to Dublin airport, passing The Customs House (extra 4), for some airport shopping and a fight to find a seat. The airport was heaving, all flights were delayed due to “the bad weather in Dublin Bay”, planes had been unable to land. The only seat we could find was in the bar, what a shame!
- Two and half hours late, we boarded the plane to Bristol, just as the sun came out! (extra 5)
- Landed 9.30pm, K’s hubbie picked us up at 10pm, home by 10.30pm, shattered.

Thank you for all your kind comments, stars and hearts for my Dublin blips. Sorry for my absence, will catch up as soon as I can.
