Terrific evening
What a wonderful concert! The opening of this year's HandelFest, in Saint Patrick's Hall in Dublin Castle. The programme was based on the orchestra's latest CD release entitled Mr Charles the Hungarian and the main item was a suite from Handel's Water Music.
A truly splendid experience, perfect to lift my spirits and take my mind of pesky health problems. The Irish Baroque Orchestra increases in stature every time I hear them. They were on top form tonight.
Splendid surroundings too. Outside the Hall, a new sculpture has popped up in the courtyard. It's Leonessa by Italian sculptor Davide Rivalta.
