Garden grow!
After our morning dog walk we set off to the south of town to pick up our half a pig that had been raised on the ranch it was nicely butchered and packaged all ready to go. Looks good will sample tomorrow night. We nipped into Walmart for a few bits and bobs and the a game store to buy a few card games. We got rummikub which we loved playing in the UK. Wingspan which we really enjoyed playing. And llamas unleashed which is a little more chaotic than wingspan. Once home we set to in the garden. Husband mowing on the highest setting. It's been really dry so we haven't been mowing but gave it a wee glancing since we had 2.5mm of rain last night. We allowed the clippings to come out on the grass to help with holding moisture. Whilst husband did that I set up some pea frames and some stakes for the broad beans. Managed to do some weeding too. All looks a bit neater now. I have to say I love our garden it's a massive area and whenever I'm not feeling so good a wander around looking at what wildflowers are popping up and how the veg is doing is really pleasing earthing grounding and relaxing. I go inside feeling more like me again. It only takes 5 minutes! Still pretty smokey as you may see in the picture.
The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul. – Alfred Austin
