Friendly lamb
Or perhaps it was just hoping we'd take it somewhere dry.
Thank you for all the kind and thoughtful comments on the last two days blips. I don't do much youth work nowadays, but the QuEGS kids are always a pleasure.
A lazy day, a lovely catch up with D (who had a nearly-very-nasty-thankfully-not mishap in the Swan Hotel car park), a new record for Lake District parking charges (£7;50 for 2hrs!), an equally expensive and v mixed lunch, and then a double volunteer shift on the phonelines.
Draining, saddening and rewarding all in equal measure. How, in 2023 in a rich WEIRD country, I'm still speaking to people living in abject poverty, having to choose between electricity or food, sleeping on the floor as they've sold all their furniture, unable to see a doctor - I wonder if we'll ever wake up and realise who the real enemy is :-(
