Home of the Bales
A short walk around the Kranichwoog today. There were still a few puddles from yesterday's rain, which surprised me. No rain today.
The main photo shows where about a month ago many bales burned down. It doesn't smell burned anymore, but behind the bales in the photo the ground is still black und looks very ugly.
Since then two more times bales have been on fire in surrounding villages. All three times they didn't catch fire my natural causes. It is still unknown who goes around and lights bales in the middle of the night. We are all asked (especially the farmers) to keep our eyes open.
The extra: It was so hot in the last weeks, some of the water buffalos changed to summer coat since I saw them the last time. ;-)
In the photo you can spot the two calves, too. Funny as it is, I thought I spotted another calf hidden behind a buffalo, a bit bigger(!) then the two babies. Need to go and check on that again.
