Red admiral on a buddleia

This is quite possibly the best butterfly photo I have ever taken.

This red admiral was enjoying the nectar so much and kept flying closer and closer to me. Eventually it was only a few centimetres from my lens and it kindly stayed still just long enough for me to take this photo.

Aren't we lucky to have such beautiful creatures in the world?
