Eastgate, Chester

SATURDAY

We decided to go on a shopping trip to Chester which, by car, is 40 minutes from our home in North Wales. With hindsight, it was not the best of days to go there as the city was buzzing with racegoers. 

We felt distinctly under dressed with streets full of men in smart suits and ties and ladies in dresses, hats and heels.

In addition to the shops, we did a complete circuit of the city walls and had a very nice bistro meal at Chez Joules.
