Meadowsweet

When I saw this plant growing in the hedgerows I assumed it was cow parsley. It wasn't until I looked more closely that I realised it was meadowsweet. Google says it likes damp places - well it has been raining quite heavily for the last week so It must be very happy!
I had a near miss with death today. I was walking in the lane and a car was coming towards me. I tucked into the hedge and the car pulled out to pass me. At that point another car came speeding round the corner causing the first car to swerve in towards me. It missed me by about 2 ft. Everyone was OK but it was quite scary.
