Carmen's Day!

Asha and I spent the morning together out and about with our cameras. She's doing so well, I'm really pleased! It was lovely to have time with her.
We had a film afternoon as it's just too hot to be out and about.
Early evening we met up with Claire to watch the procession of Carmen, the patron saint of seafaring communities. Very moving drumming as they processed with her, ending with her on a boat, followed by many many other boats all making loads of noise...and people throwing flowers into the sea. They all went out to sea to throw a wreath and presumably say a prayer, and then came back to process back to the church in the Port.
As Claire and I walked home (the kids were flagging by the time Carmen came back to land) we came across a full orchestra concert happening outside in one of the Port squares. Absolutely spine tingling!

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Music that moves the soul - the drumming for Carmen, the orchestra, hearing an old song I'd not heard for years but instantly took me back...
2) Nate loving the kids at the ES church.
3) Seeing a Roma friend as we followed Carmen back to the church.
