Knottman’s wild flowers
An occasional series.
This one is Great Willowherb, Epilobium hirsutum.
Hirsutum means hairy.
Not to be confused with Rosebay Willowherb, famous for growing on postwar bomb sites and railway sidings.
Another common name for this one is Codlins and Cream.
Took this one on a walk from the VW garage where our car was having its MOT and air conditioning service. The latter in readiness in case we get a heat dome in August !
