Coprosma

One of our guests yesterday brought a most unusual looking plant that she herself had never seen and she is a keen gardener. She sometimes walks past our house and knows that I am busy restocking my front garden rockery and thought this would make a great addition which I am sure it will.

Apparently this variety of Coprosma is native to New Zealand where it is called a Mirror bush ( so Google says !) and it has the most beautiful shiny multicoloured leaves.  I was less impressed to read that the name means  “smelling like dung” but that will help me to remember the name when I think of all the dog owners that discuss coprophagia with me !
