The glass tiles within the wall have been created by children and young people who used the Rainbow Unit, by their families, their friends and by the staff. (see extra)

The Rainbow Unit was opened in 2004 to provide care and treatment to children and young people with cancer and blood disorders. The unit was funded by donations from patients and their families, local communities and the Lingen Davies Cancer Relief Fund. A new children's Haematology and Oncology Centre opened at the Shropshire Women's and Children's Centre at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford in 2014.
