The Alpine Highlands
Given the weather forecast we decided to start our weeks holiday in the Cairngorms, before heading over to the west coast. After we'd pick our selves up from the floor when we heard the price of the campsite for the weekend (I clearly got too used to wild camping over the years), we went for a walk along the sandy "beach" shore of Loch Morlich. The place had a strangely Alps like feel - walking in warm summer sun and looking up at the snowly peaks of the Northern Corries. We had planned to do rock climb in Coire an t-Sneachda, but given the snow we might change these plans to just hill walking - best get back to the tent to make some plans.
