This Guy.

Quite simply one of the best human beings I've ever met. (I don't mind embarrassing my mates with loud, manly praise)

I came to grad school out of some difficult circumstances, and on day one I was a complete and total nervous wreck; this guy was the first person I tentatively spoke to, and literally at that moment I pivoted between "quiet loner who lurked on the edges" and "loud lunatic who decided to just go for it." He has no idea how much that conversation we had helped me decide that I could really do this, and I could really do it as the person I actually am.

He's hilarious; he's so fucking smart it's more than a little intimidating. I rarely believe in actual good people, but this guy's got me reconsidering that.
