A Sad Day for Someone.

Today I had just finished a telephone tutorial with a student when I heard a helicopter circling the house, nothing unusual and at first I ignored it. Then I realised that it was about to land so I ran down stairs yelling to Mr A, that my blip for today was outside; it shows how my mind works these days!

It had landed before I managed to get outside, but it was clear it had landed on the common, which is to one side of my 'one street'. I went to have a look, because it was bright yellow I did not think it was an air ambulance, sadly it was. Speaking with others who were watching, it seems that two paramedics jumped out of the helicopter as it landed and were picked up by a police car, which then drove them to the M11; how they knew where it was going I do not know. I had heard police cars, ambulances and fire engines earlier and the M11 appeared to be closed, so clearly something had happened. I wondered why it had not landed closer to the M11 if that was where the problem was. I then went home as I had no further wish to witness someone's distress.

I continued to work, but when I heard its rotors turn ready for take-off I took some more pictures of it in the air. Today's blip is as it flew over my house and headed off in the direction of Addenbrookes Hospital; yes, the sky was that colour.
