Fidra

Waved off we were at 12 o’clock sharp. A good stiff breeze so we made good time until somewhere east of Inchkeith the wind dropped. We shook out the reefs and crept along until we could tarry no longer and put then engine on. But lo! The wind sprang up, as if refreshed. How we goosewinged! Almost across the nose of the 60,000t Sea Bay which had been at anchor. It had been at anchor until it saw us coming. We got honked! A greeting to fellow mariners, I surmise.
So, round the east of Fidra to anchor up and ashore we did go. As previously, we found that humans aren’t entirely welcome. Back to the boat for a three course slap up followed by music and yarns. And the half tide rock showed itself at last. Clearly the charts have it in the wrong position. Ahem.
