The One-Flower-Wonder

Last year I took a cutting of one of my mother's hydrangeas and put it in the big flowerpot on my balcony.
It survived the winter and has one flower. I really like to look at it; there isn't much colour in the pot despite me planting all sorts of bee-friendly seeds.
My mother said, the motherplant of this hydrangea was a present for my first communion. That was in 1971. The motherplant is growing in my mother's front yard and is 'slightly' bigger

Many thanks to Heanku for the idea to today's blip. She made a similar experience with her hydrangea.
