Hover fly resting

For Tiny Tuesday, here is a hover fly resting on the leaf of a hypericum bush. It made me think that it might be waiting for the flower buds to open! Sometimes they sit with wings extended and sometimes with wings folded, as here. I wonder how they decide. Thanks to KangaZu for hosting.
