Offshore again

A deck is a deck is a deck. All the old calls came flooding back, all the radio calls, all the procedures... It's amazing how ingrained some things are.

There's no manned installations in the windfarms - we take the crews out, they do their thing, and we take them all back.

We carry our own HLOs (Helideck Landing Officers) and one rather novel procedure is doing an orbit round the platform to allow it to be inspected from the air, then asking the HLO for deck availability (essentially clearance to land) and then getting a reply from a guy who is actually sitting in the back of the aircraft!
