Golden Oriole
HICOF (her in charge of food) was over the moon to be able to capture this - although had she had a tripod it might have been better - but it was about 75 yards away. They also saw a hoopoe a couple of times and when they went to the next village they saw so many falcons - called lesser kestrel - that congregate there at this time of year. They are insectivorous and were flicking around in the sky above the walled villages. They are so well pleased with their day.
This morning on my walk I went into a field of miniature burrs and came out with pale yellow legs and stomach. It took HICOF half an hour of painstaking work, sitting in the road, to remove most of them.
