Digby

Digby is protected to a certain extent by a thin isthmus of land known as the Digby neck which extends for about 150k  including two islands.  We drove out on this crossing from one island to the next on chain ferries which are free, presumably because they are considered part of the road system. It is reported to be a beautiful drive but - you guessed it - the fog was horrendous and it  did not budge all day.  The reason we  continued to drive along was because we were booked to go on a whale watching tour and it was still going ahead.
Well, the whale watching was amazing, we got really close to several different whales - all humpback and were privileged to see a mother and her calf.  It remained foggy all day and on the boat trip back it was swirling around the deck;and it was cold but l am so glad we went.
Photos were all rubbish but a collage is attached.
We will cut our losses today and leave Digby for the south east coast.
