Today was Stage 1 of the grand move - all the library staff moved out to temporary accommodation for the summer. In spite of my bad dream on Saturday night, it all went surprisingly smoothly, except for the problems with the air conditioning system in the new rooms - ie who has control of it, us or the man from the Green Department!

I don't much like the new space though - too many people all too close together. I shall have to charge up my mp3 player so that I can block out the unwanted noise - especially from those who like to spend half the afternoon discussing the various options for the forthcoming restructure. I mean, I like a chat as much as the next person, but not for a couple of hours!
