Good companions
These are some marigolds that have self seeded at our allotment. They appear at random every year. They are termed companion plants as they attract lots of pollinators and some species of marigolds smell unattractive to certain aphids and harmful insects. Ours are randomly spaced but some of the very keen meticulous plot holders plant them strategically between rows!
I’ve had a busy day…swim plus aqua class then the allotment for several hours trying to weed and trim back the blackberries and clematis we have there. Also planted some very small curly kale seedlings we were given…not sure if they will thrive.
Off to Kew Palace for a guided tour this evening .
