Had a trouble free train ride to London King's Cross.  Food on offer in First Class wasn't up to much though..... a sandwich and some biscuits... but I suppose it was better than nothing on a strike day.

Bit tedious getting to Burgess Hill from London.   Usually get a direct train.   No direct trains today.  So I had to get a tube to London Bridge.  Then walk to London Bridge rail station. Then get a train to Burgess Hill.  So many steps and escalators to negotiate with a large suitcase.  Left Newcastle at 10.30am.  Arrived Burgess Hill 3.30pm.

Becky and Astrid met me and we walked the mile  back to their house.   Had a lovely evening.   Astrid is so cute and so much fun.    She loves looking at photos of herself so I took lots and she enjoyed seeing them and saying her name. Mike cooked salmon for tea. 

Becky heard today that she had got the job she had  applied for. See Extra.  She's showing off her new motivational blanket.

Mike gave me a lift to my hotel at around 9.30pm. Unpacked and then watched a bit of TV.  Off to Brighton in the morning.  Becky will be at work. Mike will be working from home.  Astrid will be at nursery.
