Best Laid Plans..
Yes, there was a plan; we don't have many plans here, but we did have one to cut down some dead trees..and had arranged for someone to come to help...BUT..that got canceled. It was pouring rain and it held on all day..so..those trees have had a reprieve until another day..
So.. I spent my day indoors (except for running out a couple of times to bail the boat) and worked on my tapestry which is now somewhat easier since my daughter suggested I use my iPhone to photograph small sections and work from the enlarged grid! AND when enlarged, the distinction between almost identical colours on the chart can be detected! Oh happy day...
I also started my third book, Demon Copperhead, and am enjoying it..but am concerned that it is almost due at the library and cannot be renewed! I may have to buy a copy to finish it! What is interesting too is that Barbara Kingsolver wrote the novel in the image of Dickens' David Copperfield.. "reimagining a Victorian epic, following the prefabricated plot but fitting it out with all new elements.." She says in the intro that it struck her that "a good story stays true forever. And also, sadly, that some things haven't changed much in 170 years where poverty and kids are concerned." I am embarrassed to say that I have not read David Copperfield, but now wish I had! It may be time to go back and read some classics - and interestingly enough, many of them are on my bookshelf and have been for decades!
