Cryptic

I happened to mention to a friend that I can't do cryptic crosswords. I've never taken the time to learn the tricks and conventions that underlie those mysterious clues.

Then this magazine arrived in the post. It has lots of cryptic crosswords of varying difficulty, with answers. Most importantly it has a guide to understanding the hints and codes in the clues. And apparently if I get good enough I can win a car.
