Village flowers
This morning Gavin left early to drive to Zurich where he had some work meetings (his company has a small office in Zurich). I (and Xena) was going to go with him but it's a 1hr 45 min journey each way so it would mean 3.5 hrs in the car today, and while I was looking forward to wandering around Zurich for a few hours I did not want to do this all day, as he would be there until about 3.30pm.
It was very low cloud and heavy skies this morning, and the rain soon started and we had rain and a few thunderstorms throughout the morning. Between thunderstorms I took Xena for a walk around the village where I photographed these flowers that one sees in the village and present them here in a collage - top left is bladder campion which grows everywhere, as do the bellflowers on the bottom right. We were halfway on our walk when it started thundering again (which spooks Xena) so we turned around and quickly walked back, just as it started raining again.
The U18 European tennis championships were on hold this morning due to the weather. There are so many countries represented here, including team GB. This competition has been held here for 25 years and previous winners include Martina Hingis and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
After lunch the sun came out for a while so I went for a walk in search of butterflies, but I did not see any - where do they go when it rains? I usually see so many but there was not one butterfly around. This afternoon we had lovely sunshine but now the rain has come in again - the weather has been extremely changeable today.
