Goodbye
Virginia was laid to rest today at St John’s Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens, New York. It was a small, private service with just family. The weather was perfect and the Deacon did a great job - she would have approved.
This is a close up of the beautiful bouquet my parents sent - the vibrant colors wert perfect for her.
I am writing this in the car as we head back home to New Jersey.
Virginia lost her older brother when she was 17 when he was killed in a military training mission in WWII. It left a mark on her and she never stepped foot on an airplane. Whenever her kids traveled by air, she wouldn’t rest until she knew they’d safely landed. As far as I know, it was one of the only things she truly feared and you could understand why.
Thanks for your kindness.
