Tea for Two

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Okay, so this is my "hurry up and take the effing picture" smile.

It's not very convincing.

This is me and Philippa from Auckland. I dealt with her a lot last year when I was working on Team Ellie. As has been the case for lot of us in this age of pandemics and video-conferencing, we became friends and so she was VERY EXCITED when she was sent down to Wellington to deliver some training.

I felt like this warranted special treatment so I organised a High Tea at the Intercontinental.

We chatted a bit about work. A LOT about work. Philippa has trouble disengaging and I had to tell her to STEP AWAY from the work phone more than once.

But it was nice to see the look on her face when tea and champagne arrived. "I feel so SPOILT!" she said.

I like doing nice things. Anyway, we weren't able to finish it all and so she parcelled most of the treats up for her daughter who was parked with her parents at the time.

After that I stopped by to see Shenée and Craig in Paremata. It has been a while and so I got the Aussie Shepherd dance and big hugs. We played "Scotland Yard" for a couple of hours and then I had to make my excuses to feed hedgehogs and cats. Shenée understood.

All in all it was a nice Friday of being nice. And one which deserves a much more convincing smile than the one I served up over high tea.
