First dahlia

I've never grown dahlias. Our neighbour gave me a couple to plant, and this is the first bloom. When Renata was here a few weeks ago, she told me that dahlias are Kalyn's favourite flowers. I had no idea!  I really hoped that one would bloom before she arrived for a quick visit this weekend, and it did! She and Renata will be here just in time to be picked up at the ferry and taken to their fave restaurant for dinner. We're looking forward to seeing them!
