'Sea-Renity' indeed

Perhaps it's because I've had a frustrating week setting up a new computer in a network that I'm feeling easily peeved by the destruction of the English language. What is it with boat owners who think it's appropriate, no necessary, to take liberties with the 'King's English'. On reflection, could it be something about the registration of boats? Perhaps an informed blipper could set me right.
