Thirsty

Every day we see two trees slowly suffering from lack of water. Not sure who planted them (City, Uni, RR, or Johhny Appleseed), but they have failed to keep the trees watered, although the trees each have a water bladder in place at their bases, dry bladders. We had talked for days about how we could carry water to them and finally did it late this evening. We loaded the trunk with plastic bins of water, a watering can and various other containers, then drove the approximately 6 miles to the end of the Waud Trail and then drove on the trail to reach the trees. When we walk, it's about 2 miles from home.
I'm certain no one but the trees wanted us to be driving on the trail, but our car is small and light, and it's very dry right now, so it didn't damage anything. And sure enough, we had barely begun our watering when a security guard from the US Coast Guard station, that borders the trail, appeared on his side of the fence. He didn't say anything, but was pretty curious, so we told him about the suffering trees.
I think we need to make a few more trips, although we are already probably too late.
