Make do and mend . . .

Or in the-is case 'tart up to make a bedside table'.

We gave this to Mark when he moved into his flat six plus years ago so that he could do it up as a bedside table.  I had already upgraded its sister and it’s been my side of the bed since then.

Sadly it was still there untouched when we cleared Marks flat, complete with new brass knobs in their packets in one of the draws.

Most of today was taken up with renovating the said item for Mrs W to use, including sanding down areas and – I was going to say re-varnishing, but it was a wood stain and a polish, the top will never see the light of day again with all that Mrs W has on her bedside table . . .

Now to tune in to Liza Tarbuck, have a shower,  get into my jim-jams, and enjoy the meal Mrs W says she is going to cook.
