A golden day

Today was the golden wedding anniversary of our friends A and P with whom  we started celebrating on Saturday with our surprise lunch. They had planned a garden party from lunchtime onwards and fate was on their side with warm temperatures and sunshine. It was a lovely happy and fun event with a wonderful buffet which had something for everyone. The afternoon culminated with the happy pair cutting their anniversary cake (extra).
My main blip is a bit of a puzzle for you and it provided a welcome for all arriving at this very happy occasion. (Answer will be given in a later blip. At the moment I am working on catch-up once again after a very busy week.)
