Listed building...

This is a building near me and is an example of successful conservation of a listed building. It has been converted into flats and is kept in good repair. I'm really liking the effect on pictures of buildings I can get by converting to black and white using an infrared effect in Photoshop. I had a hard job making up my mind between this zoomed shot and this shot showing the whole building.

This brings me on to my rant about laws/regulations on listed buildings. There are a few around my area. This is another one. It is a beautiful building but is being left to fall down, presumably because no one can afford to do any work on it in keeping with the strict regulations on listed buildings. There are many beautiful buildings being allowed to fall down for this reason. This is an example of how legislation which is too rigid can sometimes achieve the opposite of the intended effect.

Now onto my day... I obviously, eventually, left the sofa and found the lovely sunshine outside. The reason was a visit to my doc who planned giving me a new BP drug today to add to a growing cocktail of important medication. I was not looking forward to it as I have been through a number of them and had nasty reactions. Today, however, my BP had gone down so much that he has put that plan on the back burner. All I need to do now is keep up the process by losing a bit of weight and getting more exercise. The beloved bicycle will help me on that one. And yes, when I say "all", I really mean "ALL" (gulp...)

Hope you're having a good morning. I have blipped early as the early blipper gets.... worms? No, that can't be right....
