Green and Pleasant Wetland
Today saw my first ever visit to the Wetlands at Twycross Zoo, coincidentally exactly one year to the day since it first opened. At present (as I foresee a change) you do not need to purchase a Zoo ticket to gain access to the Wetlands, but I did, and spent a few hours admiring the animals in the zoo; particularly falling for the ring-tailed Lemurs, and Prairie dogs. The latter were out in force making the most of the sunshine, laid out in a 'flying superman' pose on the ground. This is a panoramic view from the highest point of the Wetlands, with a view to the south-west in the direction of Birmingham, though you cannot see it for hills. Fact about Twycross; I met Johnny Morris here when I was a child - this was a favourite location for him to hang out in.
