Mauer

A day of two halves. We started with the Naturskunde museum which is round the corner from our hotel. Dinosaurs, a huge collection of ‘wet’ exhibits, the solar system and then and most fascinating taxidermy! Also an exhibition of who they are trying to digitise their huge collection of specimens from little fleas to huge ex zoo animals.

Had our fill of knowledge, a walk to our favourite Mauer park which transforms on a Sunday into a huge meeting area of flea market and food stalls, drummers, basketball players and then at 4pm an outdoor amphitheatre for karaoke. The singers ranged from sublime to the ridiculous with a Prince, a few Queens, ABBA and lots of old Germans singing schlage such as Heidi. It was a hoot. Four hours of singing and grinning and a sore bum from the hard steps.
Ate at last nights blip of SV on the Spree, flamkuchen and an Aperol.
