Rannadale Bluebells

Great first day out with John Gravett @ Lakeland Photographic Holidays. Cloud most of the day but great light for photography.
Day started hilariously as John found he had left the keys to the Land Rover at the new house and his tripod and filters were locked inside the Landie with no way of getting at them. Tripod was not an issue but it was fun seeing John begging for the loan of an ND grad.. Quick re-arrangement of transport and we were off to photograph Rannadale with a stop at Crummock Water on the way. Very light winds meant that Crummock was as calm as I have ever seen it and the morning was spent happily photographing the magnificent reflections. Lunchtime we moved onto Rannadale, hoping that the bracken had not grown enough to obscure the bluebells. We were greeted with a stunning display of colour with both the bluebells and the gorse in full flower. The afternoon was spent trying to do justice to this natural wonder, patiently (well sometimes) waiting whilst the general public meandered along admiring the show oblivious to the photographers trying to capture the scene. A good day.
