Uncovered and......

....unfurling.  I'm attempting to find a few [plants under their cover of bindweed which has gone completely mad this year.  Usually I manage to more or less keep on top of it but I haven't been able to this time.  Ferns are very tenacious and this one is continuing no matter what!  It's some special one I was given years ago....no idea what it is called.
