I had to go into Edinburgh for a meeting with an MSc student and her industrial supervisor, and this was the view up when I entered the office block. It wasn't a great use of my time, and I had to avoid snapping at the student when she was asking endlessly about how to write her dissertation to get the maximum mark.
The bonus of being in town came when walking for a bus to return to KB for another supervision meeting. I bumped into Shandonner. We'd not seen each other for years, and have known each other since he was a student in the first maths course that I put together in 1992, and he was the person who introduced me to Blipfoto! I decided that it was better to chat than be in time for my student. Naturally I emailed him before the arranged time, and he was completely OK about it.
Unfortunately I skipped lunch as a consequence, so wasn't productive after our meeting, but I got stuck in again once I'd eaten a sandwich on the way home.
